BOOK NOW AND JOIN IN THE FUN!!! | BOROMA ROAMERS RALLY 20072007 BOROMA ROAMERS RALLY – STANTHORPE
The fourth annual Boroma “Roamers” Rally was held at the Top of the
Town
Tourist
Park
in Stanthorpe over the weekend of 12/13/14 October. 56 Boroma Caravans of all ages and sizes were assembled in the one spot, and what an impressive sight it was! Some customers who are waiting for their vans to be completed stayed in the cabins at the Park in order to join in the festivities and mingle with existing owners, and a large complement of Boroma Staff also attended. Total attendance figure was close to 130 people, and it was unanimous among staff and “Roamers” that this was the best Rally yet!
| Fun on Friday and Saturday! The weekend opened on Friday night with the “Welcome Drinks” held under the cover outside the
Camp
Kitchen . Whilst the night was a typical crisp Stanthorpe evening, the roaring fire added atmosphere and kept the attendees warm. Bill Higgins, a well known local Bush Poet, and Vineyard Manager for Summit Wines, entertained everyone with his vast repertoire of bush poetry, and had everyone enthralled with his quick wit and skill with words.
Saturday was a glorious day and many “Roamers” headed off to enjoy the numerous wineries and places of interest around the Stanthorpe area, returning for a fully catered lunch sponsored by Boroma Caravans and cooked by the Chef at the Top of the Town bistro. This was followed by a wine tasting hosted by Bill Higgins of Summit Wines, which was a great hit with all who attended. Later in the afternoon there was a demonstration and tasting of local jams and sauces provided by Jamworks, which was very much enjoyed, and a display of beautiful lavender products by
Crystal
Ridge . Saturday night was free time, and saw many old friendships renewed and new acquaintances made around the camp fire.
| Sunday was 'Recovery Day'Sunday’s “Recovery Breakfast” sponsored and cooked by the management and staff of the Top of The Town was fantastic, with another poetry recital by Bill Higgins and an impromptu guitar session by Barry Dennis, a very recent Boroma “Roamer”. (Barry and his wife Corinne had only picked up their Boroma Caravan on the Friday, and traveled straight to the Rally!) Following the success of the morning session, a “Jam Session” was held around the fireplace on Sunday night with various other “Roamers” and Park staff taking part. Although “Jazz in the Vineyard” at a nearby winery was very popular, the “Roamers” in-house event surpassed it by all accounts!
A raffle was held over the weekend, with prizes donated by the exhibitors present and the Top of the Town, and monies raised were donated to a local charity, Granite Belt Wildlife Carers Inc. In total $350 was donated to this worthwhile charity which rescues and cares for local injured wildlife and is staffed entirely by volunteers.
Owners of Boroma Caravans, Peter Russell and Judie Groves, were thrilled at the success of the Rally, and thanked everyone who attended and helped to make it such a fantastic weekend. Everyone is now looking forward to next year’s Rally, and it would be no surprise if it was held at the same venue again!
| STOLEN CARAVANWould all Boroma owners keep an eye out for the 14' Skippy pop top (chassis no: BROO580) which was stolen from the Boroma factory yard in the early hours of the morning of 26/6/06. This distinctive van was not registered, and has had a roll out awning fitted to the side of it since this picture was taken. |
